Zanetti: Lautaro will not leave Inter

Vice-president and club legend of Inter Milan Javier Zanetti claims that forward Lautaro Martinez will remain at the club.

This entire year, Lautaro Martinez's future has been hazy. After Luis Suarez was injured in the winter, Barcelona wanted to sign the Argentine, thereby solving a short-term problem and signing him for the future. But then it was not possible to make a deal, and the Catalans took Braithwaite for themselves, and then the quarantine helped them, during which the Uruguayan returned to duty.

But the need to replace Suarez with a younger and more agile striker remained. Barcelona are watching the Argentine, but Inter do not believe that their pupil will trade a career in Milan for a problematic giant undergoing restructuring. This idea was broadcast in an interview by Javier Zanetti,

“He will not leave Inter. Not only Barcelona are interested in him, but Lautaro knows that he already plays for a great club. He is happy with life in Italy, although living here is not easy. I think he's on the right track. He is our present and future, and the club respects him.

There are players with fixed compensation, and when another club comes in and pays this amount, there is almost nothing to be done. But Lautaro is happy with everything at Inter - I can see it,” Zanetti said.

The argument in favor of Lautaro's move to Catalonia was Lionel Messi's approval. Unlike Icardi, Lionel gets along with Martinez and wanted to see him as a partner. But after the summer scandal, when the winger was about to leave Barcelona, Martinez is unlikely to be interested in moving to a club where Messi may not play next season. In this regard, he acted more consistently than Pjanic, whose goal of moving to Camp Nou was to play together with the Argentine idol.

In addition, the presence of Argentine compatriots among the management of Inter plays into the hands of the young striker. He is only 23 and his whole career is still ahead, so it is extremely stupid and inappropriate to force events in the club, which gives him hothouse conditions and prospects.
